Head of Department for International Relations; Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey
Mr. Safa Uslu has been serving as Head of Department for International Relations of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey for the past year. Prior to his current role, Mr. Uslu served in the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources for 8 years as the Director General and Deputy DG for Foreign Affairs and International Projects Department. In addition to his current role, Mr. Uslu has maintained his duty at the National Petroleum Pipeline Company (BOTAS) as Executive Board Member.
From 2004 to 2012, Mr. Uslu served as the Advisor of the Former Turkish President H.E. Abdullah Gül and, Chief of Cabinet when H.E. Gül was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister. Mr. Uslu joined the Executive Environmental Economics Program at Harvard University in 2014 and earned an Eisenhower Fellowship in 2015.
Mr. Uslu has a PhD from Durham University with his thesis on Turkey-Sub-Saharan Africa Energy Relations and holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Durham University. Mr. Uslu earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Sakarya University.
