Dr. Claus-Dieter Ulmer, Senior Vice President Group Privacy, has been the Global Data Privacy Officer with Deutsche Telekom Group since 2002.

Ulmer has made many publications in national and international specialized press and published “The Data-Protection-Handbook Telecommunication”.

He has been speaker for many high-level conferences and is lecturer for the Data Protection and IT-Security Academy in Ulm, which is a training institute for certified Data Protection Officers.

Ulmer is representing the German Industry Association (BDI) in the advisory board of the Data Protection Foundation of Germany.

He supports startup companies and new visionary ideas in the digital area. E.g. Motionlogic, a company providing traffic information on basis of anonymous location data.

Ulmer has also supported governmental delegations of several states and companies with strategic advice for data privacy management. He is member of the task force of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Privacy.
