Tuesday 29 September Day Two Plenary Agenda
Panel 7: THE PLATFORM ECONOMY – Innovation, Growth, Accountability and Rights
- How should we assess the platform economy’s impact on economic opportunity, innovation and fundamental rights alongside systemic risks and harms?
- How have DSA obligations and platform investments in transparency, safety and content governance shaped user experience, democratic discourse and economic activity, and how does this interact with GDPR frameworks in practice?
- How do platforms enable EU SMEs, creators and startups to scale cross-border, and how should simplification initiatives such as the Omnibuses and Digital Fairness Check take this into account in practice?
- What governance models — including codes of conduct, multi-stakeholder initiatives and regulatory sandboxes — can best combine accountability, legal certainty and innovation at scale?
